Looks like Virginia Tech will be sporting a couple different looks this season.
According to coach Frank Beamer's official site Beamerball.com, the Hokies will wear special white helmets with poultry feet for the "White Effect" game against Austin Peay on Sept. 8, and camouflage uniforms for "Military Appreciation Day" against Bowling Green on Sept. 22.
The white helmet with the turkey feet on it has got to one of the most original helmets we've seen in quite some time. Some might call it fowl (see what I did there?), but I like that Virginia Tech is going with something different and fun. But if they were trying to be intimidating, this probably isn't going to do it.
Besides, unless you're at the game, the only way most people will see these helmets will be if they're checking out the game on the Internet.
