1. You should probably just go read Les Carpenter's piece on American wrestler Jordan Burroughs, who won wrestling gold over Iranian Sadegh Gourdazi. Picking a favorite part of the story is difficult, as you have to choose between Burroughs wading up to Section 410 to celebrate with his mother, how he was on the podium 30 minutes before the medal ceremony was set to start or how he said he was so committed to winning the gold that should the queen herself step onto the mat, he would "probably double-leg" her. 2. Jamaican sprinter Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce slipped past Carmelita Jeter for the 100m gold earlier in the week, but the American got some revenge when she anchored a world-record-setting 4x100m relay for the U.S. women. Jeter combined with 200m champ Allyson Felix, Tianna Madison and Bianca Knight to rout the field with a 40.82, shaving .55 off the previous best. Jeter's strong finish came amid questions about her relationship with a banned coach.

3. The men's basketball gold-medal game is set, and it will be a rematch of 2008's thriller in Beijing. Spain rallied from a halftime deficit to down Russia, while the United States blew open a close game against Argentina with an explosive third-quarter performance. Tyson Chandler and Kevin Love will have their hands full with the Gasol brothers and Serge Ibaka down low, but it might not matter if LeBron James continues his brilliant play. The gold will be decided on Sunday at 10 a.m. EDT.
4. After not participating in the 4x400 finals at the 2011 world championships, Oscar Pistorius wanted to get a shot in the relay final. Friday in London his wish was granted, but the South African team was so far behind when he took the baton that he had no chance at a medal. It was an exciting race to the end, as the Bahamas ran down Team USA — which was without the injured Manteo Mitchell and Lashawn Merritt — in the final leg to win the gold.

5. Since the start of the Olympics, fans across the globe have been paying a lot of attention to the Dutch field hockey team. All of the photo galleries, blog posts and videos were worth it because the ladies of the Netherlands captured their second straight gold medal with a 2-0 win over Argentina. Great Britain prevailed in the bronze-medal game, with Kate Middleton supporting the hometown team. Should you have interest, here is a gallery of their celebration.

"I just enjoy beating people up." — 17-year-old boxing gold medalist Claressa Shields responding to a question on how she chose boxing. Shields' story is a great one, which makes it even more puzzling that her gold medal was basically ignored on NBC's prime-time broadcast.
