Video: Giants teammates impersonate Hunter Pence’s motivational playoff speech

The San Francisco Giants had their backs against the wall and were in desperate need of a spark heading into Game 3 of their matchup against the Cincinnati Reds.

Some will say that spark came via Scott Rolen's defensive miscue in the 10th inning, which led directly to the game-winning run. Others might blame the curse of the "sorry-looking broom." But it's possible that spark came in the form of an impassioned, pregame motivational speech from Hunter Pence.

Not only did the Giants avoid elimination on that Tuesday afternoon at the Great American Ballpark, they went on to win 10 of their next 13 games to secure their second World Series championship in three years. Before each of those games, Pence recreated his speech from Game 3 with teammates and television cameras surrounding him in the Giants dugout.

A few weeks later, those same Giants teammates are the ones doing the recreating as a part of the Giants' new World Series DVD, as they break out their best Hunter Pence impressions — right on down to his mannerisms and facials expressions — to give fans a little taste of what the newly nicknamed "Reverend" was preaching in the face of adversity and elimination.

Among the Giants featured in the video are their trio of 2012 MVPs — Buster Posey, Pablo Sandoval and Marco Scutaro — along with Matt Cain, Barry Zito and Angel Pagan. It's a really fun video and it's definitely worth going out of your way to see even if you're not a Giants fan.
